Oceanic Laboratory Initiative was founded by Victoria, who possesses nearly two decades of clinical microbiological expertise, and Bryan, an Indoor Environmental Consultant who became a McCrone Research Institute qualified direct microscopist. Their shared vision was to bring reform to the environmental mold analyst sector. 

Their journey began with the goal of creating frameworks for laboratory policy, procedures, and training, enabling the implementation of laboratory accreditation standards such as NATA (National Association of Testing Authorities). They also aimed to develop a more comprehensive proficiency and technical assessment program. After effectively aiding laboratories in these implementations, they evaluated the market and engaged in discussions with NATA regarding these services. Unfortunately, it became apparent that this approach was not sustainable in such a specialized market. Nonetheless, ambition for this has not been quenched but lays dormant for the next opportunity to add value this sector of the industry. 

Consequently, Oceanic Laboratory Initiative has pivoted to provide boutique direct microscopy services for fungal analysis. They now cater to a diverse range of professionals in this ever-evolving industry, including Occupational Hygienists, Indoor Environmental Professionals, Building Biologists, Restorers, and others. Their primary mission is to passionately contribute substantial value to this industry, which is brimming with dedication and enthusiasm.
